ALCHEMY

In 1969, two yachts were being built simultaneously at Royal Van Lent: Intent and Prosit. Their design demonstrated how yacht use and function was becoming increasingly varied. Intent (since renamed Alchemy) was intended as a family boat. Particular attention was paid to the layout, furnishings and equipment to ensure a genuine homely feel. In contrast, entertainment was an absolute priority in the Prosit camp. Among the attributes requested by her owner were a fishing cockpit complete with stainless steel fish and bait boxes (with their own running water), and two customized fishing chairs.  Alchemy underwent a major refit and extension in 2008.
