Cecil Wright on bringing Kismet to the Monaco Yacht Show 2023

Fewer clients, serviced better: Such is the promise of boutique yacht brokerage company Cecil Wright. But founder Chris Cecil-Wright doesn’t pay significant mind to labels. For him and his team, the London-based firm is, put simply, a place where clients can be assured that their needs will be expertly taken care of, whether that concerns the sale, purchase, charter or management of larger superyachts.

Being more selective in their business also means that Cecil Wright can devote more time to nurturing its relationship with owners, which Chris says is a critical first step in being awarded not only their trust, but also their confidence in seeing the job through

One major win for Cecil Wright has been the recent addition of the 95-metre Lürssensuperyacht Kismet to the firm’s brokerage fleet – the largest yacht for sale that the firm has ever represented as central agent. Ahead of the yacht’s appearance at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, Chris describes the highly tailored experience clients can expect from Cecil Wright, and shares more on the firm’s immaculate new offering.

Why do you believe so strongly in fostering client relationships?

Let’s say you’re new to the industry, looking to buy a yacht for the first time, you can’t expect to be an expert in yachting. What you need is somebody who can get across to you – quickly, efficiently and reliably – the information you need to make a good decision. If you meet me, or one of my team, you’re going to find that we’ve already done the work to know all the people in the industry, the shipyards, the lawyers and the captains – good and bad. But you won’t trust that information until you trust us, and that’s why we build the relationship first, before we start delivering all the information.

What makes Kismet unique on the market?

Her size makes her pretty unique, since it’s a rare sight on the market today. She is also an extremely well-conceived boat with an extremely high specification, so all her equipment is the best you can possibly buy. There are no corners cut anywhere. But mostly, she has been maintained to a level that’s very rare. Everybody always says that and so often it isn’t true, but with Kismet, it absolutely is. Subject to contract, the owner will even give warranty against how good it is.

Is there a lot of interest in Kismet ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show?

A lot of interest. We’ve got lots of people who want to view the boat but she’s had back-to-back charters over the summer season, so it might be that the Monaco Yacht Show is really the first time we can get any volume of people on board.

Kismet is asking €149,000,000. For more information, contact the team at Cecil Wright today.
