GENE CHASER

Best known for her role as the Yacht Support to her 55m Amels sister GENE MACHINE, GENE CHASER is in fact the larger of this famous superyacht pairing and is an ocean-crossing, globe-trotting superyacht in her own right.

Testament to GENE CHASER’s world cruising ability and meticulous maintenance programme, she clocked up an impressive 38,000nm in 2023 and took each wave in her stride.

Built by Damen Yachting as YS 5009, she was transformed by her current owner into a working laboratory for scientific research. Other features of her design include a beach club and scuba diving centre, and touch-and-go helipad.

GENE CHASER could continue to serve a new owner in similar fashion, or be converted back to a more typical support yacht platform with greater accommodation for guests and crew.

The versatile vessel sports a 225-square-metre deck, equipped with a 11.3-tonne capacity crane. To date, this space has been used to carry a 42-foot tender and additional landing craft, as well as a shipping container that holds an all-terrain vehicle and toys.
