FIRST ICE-CLASSED FEADSHIP PROJECT 701 LEAVES CONSTRUCTION SHED

Tuesday, 21st August 2018

The first ice-classed Feadship yacht has now left the construction shed at the yard's Aalsmeer facility. The Dutch yard released a photo of Project 701 leaving the shed for the first time earlier this month.

There are still few details known about the yacht, but we do know that the 51 metre custom explorer yacht is the first Feadship to be built to ice-class notation, suggesting it will spend time cruising polar regions.

The exterior was designed by the Feadship in-house designer Studio De Voogt, whilst the interior was created with Bannenberg and Rowell Design.

The yacht has a pair of Caterpillar C32 engines, that will reach a top speed 14.5 knots with a range of 4,500 nautical miles. Project 701 can accommodate 12 guests.

Feadship have announced that the yacht's name will be revealed after a private naming ceremony has taken place.
