Revenues up 200% at Cecil Wright & Partners

Cecil Wright & Partners has revealed to BOAT Business strong accounts for 2021, with sales and charter figures up.

Some €798M in gross sales have been closed through 24 deals by the business in the past five years, with 2021 adding a further glut to the books.

The past 12 months showed six deals alone, with a further three yachts under offer and one new build to announce, said founder Chris Cecil-Wright.

Over the past five years charter revenues had doubled, apart from in 2020 when it “fell off a cliff”, said Cecil-Wright.

Revenues so far this year were up 200% compared with 2019, while gross charter sales had reached €49M.

Cecil-Wright, who runs the business with a team of 11, believed the company’s success came down to a focus on excellent customer service and a highly skilled staff.

“We’re a business that services the needs of our clients, which are always changing,” he said at the Monaco Yacht Show last week, adding demand frequently changed with clients currently focusing on how to spend more time onboard.

“As a business, we don’t go chasing after every possible deal,” continued Cecil-Wright. “We add a number of clients all of the time, but we like to understand each of our customers.”

A personal touch with each owner was essential for a business such as Cecil Wright & Partners, which was small in comparison to other brokerage and management houses, he said.
