I'm pleased to introduce Luke Brennan who joins our Retail Charter team in the New Forest office, Ed Carrell who takes on the position of Commercial Director and Henry Goulding who joins our Yacht Sales team in Monaco.
I met Ed in the army 25 years ago. Having risen to COO of Barclays Bank in Africa in his early civilian career, I’m delighted (and a little relieved) that he has joined the business. As my commercial right hand he is, as I write, planning and delivering our entry into the Asian market.
Henry, like many of the Cecil Wright team, grew up on the UK South Coast and has turned his childhood passion for sailing into a career. For the last 12 years, he has worked as an officer on yachts of up to 90 metres and as a captain on yachts of up to 50 metres. This insight gives him, and the whole team, a greater and more detailed understanding of all large yacht operations. Above all, it makes him incredibly well-placed to add value to a client transaction and deliver on a client’s needs.
Luke’s interest in yachting stemmed from sailing in his youth. Frequent childhood trips to Cornwall and Portugal, along with a stint living in Australia, spawned an almost insatiable appetite for being in and around the ocean. Prior to joining the yachting industry in 2018, Luke worked in commercial property, sourcing and purchasing investment opportunities on behalf of family offices. As a result, he has a good understanding of how to structure, negotiate and execute deals. Outside of yachting, Luke can be found indulging his passion for sport with one of the various teams he’s involved with.
