Vita and Ryan's 470 Campaign - February update
Cecil Wright & Partners are delighted to sponsor Vita's campaign to make the 2024 Olympic Games.
This round of Vilamoura training had many more foreign teams to train with and we got a fleet size of 36 in the grand prix regatta. It was great to get on the racecourse with more boats and get our heads back into big fleet tactics. We ended up with a 7th place finish in the regatta, after a mast disaster on the first day. Not our finest regatta but we sailed better and better as it went on.
To top our our big fleet racing tactics, we joined our Etchells team out in Miami for a 3 day regatta. Long races and a 46-strong fleet was invaluable for our racing.
Home now after 25 days on the trot is a good chance to reflect on our performances and soak up the learning. One week to focus on fitness until we head out to Palma!
For all those that have chipped in recently, it has been vital in allowing us to do these events and training. We have just had a large sails order and bought a boat so your support has been keeping us afloat (literally!).
Palma will be 3 weeks of training camps with a short break before we go into racing on the 4th.

This year we will be doing update videos that will be posted on our website each month so you can see what we’re getting up to.
Please please share this with anyone who you think might be interested; they have the chance to help our team go to the Olympic Games! We need the funds now more that ever to get that jump over our competition. Unfortunately, in the sport of sailing there is a direct correlation between money and success.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who has been supporting us, you support and encouragement means a lot to us and gives the confidence to keep fighting! Not long now until our Olympic trials!
