Sun-drenched Sicily is a volcanic land of contrasts, history, art and natural beauty. Greek temples, Norman churches and Baroque palazzos are a testament to Sicily’s turbulent past, and so too is its varied cuisine. Cruise from one ancient town to the next (Taormina, Palermo, Syracuse, Catania…) and explore their winding streets which are dotted with restaurant-lined piazzas, gelaterias and boutiques. Other places to discover are the many southern beaches and even the smoking craters of Mount Etna. Just off Sicily’s north coast lie the Aeolian Islands – a land of smoldering volcanoes, black beaches and bubbling mud baths.
