HAMPSHIRE II

The delivery of the remarkable HAMPSHIRE II was a career milestone for me; the culmination of a 5 year project with Feadship and RWD.   Feadship firmly believes that if a client can dream it, they can build it, and they were the obvious choice.  She was custom made to reflect the owner’s passion for tradition, sport and adventure. 

There are countless ground breaking features which are a testimony to Feadship’s brilliance.  The foredeck helipad converts to a netted court for basketball, badminton or football.  There are diving boards on every deck – the owner is a keen swimmer.  Guests can zip wire into the sea from the crow’s nest and the beach club, which opens on 3 sides, is bursting with land and sea toys.

For the interior, we incorporated a cinema on the lower deck, a burning fireplace, a wine cellar with underwater viewing window and a fabulous bar on the bridge deck level.  RWD’s brief was to create a traditional look but absolutely avoid looking like a hotel, and the result is an interior of understated, timeless elegance. HAMPSHIRE II is a triumph of design and engineering and I’m immensely proud to have been part of her construction.
